Cotton looms

Cotton looms

The Scheller company was the first company ever to build a completely electronic cotton loom with movement of the yarn guide bars and triangles through servomotors. This system has been patented (Europe patent no. 0 139 926) and has allowed it to be a technological leader in the creation of cotton looms for years.

In 2003 Elmetec (together with the German Henschel KG) acquired Scheller and all its know-how in the construction of textile machinery, merging it with its own.

Today Elmetec creates cotton looms with characteristics specifically requested by the customer; always new machinery, built with cutting-edge techniques and technologies and characterized by performance, possibilities and reliability of the highest level.

We also offer our customers the possibility of retrofitting for cotton looms; clearly the changes that can be made vary depending on the characteristics of the individual machine.

BASIC INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION

With this type of modification the machine maintains the mechanical towing system.

The main changes made are the following:

  • Replacement of the main engine
  • Movement of the side punch screws with the use of 1 or 2 brushless motors
  • Movement of the “V” neck screws with the use of 1 or 2 brushless motors
  • Variable stroke driven by a motor or directly connected to the thread guide stop screw*
  • Automatic insertion and disconnection of central punches*
  • Motor for the movement of the draft system*

BASIC INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION

With this type of modification, the mechanical towing system is eliminated.

The main changes made are the following:

  • Replacement of the main engine
  • Movement of the triangle bar through a brushless motor
  • Movement of the side punch screws with the use of 1 or 2 brushless motors
  • Movement of the “V” neck screws with the use of 1 or 2 brushless motors
  • Movement of the wire guide bars through recirculating ball screws driven by brushless motors
  • Automatic insertion and disconnection of central punches*
  • Motor for the movement of the draft system even at full head*
  • Automatic yarn distribution with electric yarn feeders or air tensioners*

* depending on the characteristics of the machine and/or customer requests.
